A NEWLY forged partnership between two top radio stations in Kenya and Nigeria has yielded a programme, ‘9JA -KENYA KONNEKT — an hour programme which is programmed to make a debut this weekend. The rarefied East and West Africa cultural exchange project, 9JA-Kenyan Konnect is product of a collaboration between Icon Radio Kenya and Spirit Of Nigeria Radio, the Lagos-based internet radio station, which targets its programmes at Nigerian and Africans in the Diaspora, even as it commands huge followings among listeners at home in Nigeria. Described as a “historic partnership,” the collaboration will see both online radio stations broadcast content in a promotional exchange of music and culture. 9JA-Kenyan Konnect will be broadcast on Icon Radio Kenya on Fridays from 7pm and 8pm (East Africa Time) with Nigerian content, while Spirit Of Nigeria will broadcast the Kenyan Content on Saturdays from 2pm to 3pm.
