Media Broadcast Engineer is needed at Arepo, Ogun State



A leading English radio station situated at Arepo, Ogun state requires the service of a media broadcast Engineer.

About Role

The Engineer will ensure the day to day engineering processes and the hands on maintenance of the technical infrastructure of the station. The Engineer is also responsible for the support of the hardware and broadcast systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analysing and repairing technical faults on equipment and systems
  • Minimising loss of service when equipment fails by quickly identifying and implementing alternative methods of service provision
  • Setting up and operating equipment and transmission links during outside broadcast
  • Interpreting and implementing requests from producers, directors and other colleagues
  • Communicating effectively with members of the team and other colleagues
  • Keeping up to date with the industry and changes in technology by building and maintaining a network of contacts and investigating new systems and techniques transmission
  • Responsible for the smooth operation of all studio and broadcast equipment
  • Ensure the capability to broadcast from any location by linking connections from location to studio
  • Responsible for the operation of transmitters, transmitting equipment, studio equipment and consoles
  • Monitor the quality of audio broadcast
  • Ensure that online broadcast/streaming runs smoothly Power Supply
  • Ensures the operation and maintenance of all power machinery, generators, inverters, UPS, AVR) and ensures all in good operations
  • Check the generator power supply to ensure that generators are in good working condition to run daily activities
  • Putting on all necessary equipment to power daily transmission Internet Service
  • Manage and maintain network
  • Ensures network in studios and offices are running effectively
  • Ensure no network interference on streaming server
  • Liaises with internet provider maintenance
  • Engage in periodic preventive maintenance and routine services of all electrical equipment
  • Ensure that all transmitting and studio equipment are kept in the best condition
  • Attend to issues and faults relating to equipment to provide solution
  • Maintenance of defective equipment and follow up to ensure they are all in good condition
  • Verbally communicate and write reports of maintenance activities
  • Keep abreast of new technology and best practices in the field of technical broadcasting
RequirementsKnowledge of broadcast rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of maintenance, usage and design of technical broadcast equipment
  • Ability to respond to operational/technical equipment issues
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication
  • Skilled in repair of digital and computer systems
