Media Crisis:Mass Resignation Rocks Liberty Radio In Kano

About seven management staff of liberty radio 10.33, an FM station based in Kano have resigned their positions.

One of the affected staff confirmed the development to the Source .

On why the resignation of Key management staff which include Head of station, head of engineering,Head of news and Head of on air personalities,said the reason for their resignation include lack of coordination,lack of conducive working environment and a myriad of problems that affects the station in Kano.

According to him the station in Kano is also unable to pay salaries as at when due as at now they are yet to pay us three months salaries said some the source.

When contacted for comment over the allegations, the liberty radio station coordinator in Kano Aminu Nuruddin Amin told the source that the management staff did not resign as alleged ,the station is making some restructuring to give out its best to the audience.

Aminu Nuruddin said they were just ask to take a leave for a while pending when the restructuring will finish.

He said they have even asked some of them to do other jobs and at the same time serve as staff of liberty radio.

As at now there are over 20 radio stations in Kano in which majority of them are finding it difficult to pay salaries due to lack of revenue,while those that are having effective revenue are exploiting junior staff at the detriment of the senior ones.

In 2020 and 2021 mass resignation of staff rocks Freedom Radio in Kano and Vision FM over   working conditions and favouritism of some staff over others.

The proliferation of radio stations in Kano have now thrown the industry into crisis of sustainability and renumeration.

Ayefele establishes Another Radio Station, Blast FM In Ibadan
